Oare Marshes
Sometimes it takes a reminder that what’s right on your doorstep is truly unique. That happened to me this month whilst watching Winterwatch on BBC2. Wildlife cameraman Richard Taylor made a film about Oare Marshes just outside Faversham, it’s beautiful, full of rushes in golden light, wading birds in the watery landscape & a bird of prey making use of the vantage points offered by the numerous pylons that dissect this part of the Kent coast. Wow! So as soon as the weather allowed I walked out to the marshes with a flask & some binoculars to experience it for myself. Here’s some snapshots from my walk.
